I did this hack some time ago, just for fun, in a non destructive way (retrofitting 4 speaker binding posts to the back of the ikea speaker), and connecting the woofer amp to a small old 8” pc subwoofer. Turns out you can get a signal to a powered sub by jumping off the woofer terminals in the symfonisk to connect to the speaker level inputs on any powered subwoofer.
